Print, editorial & communications
The quiet authority of something exceptionally well made.
Print creates a physical encounter with the brand: weight, texture, proportion, colour and finish are understood before a word is read. I design refined print and editorial pieces for businesses that value material quality, working with specialist makers to ensure the production is as considered as the creative idea.
The opportunity
When ordinary production would diminish the idea
For a premium business, a generic stock, familiar template or indifferent finish can undermine the impression it is intended to create. I consider the purpose of the piece, how it will be held or discovered, and which materials and processes can express quality with restraint rather than spectacle.
Scope of work
From editorial structure to specialist finish
- 01
Brochures and publications
Editorial systems, pacing, typography and image direction for substantial, beautifully resolved communications.
- 02
Business cards and stationery
Bespoke formats and exceptional paper stocks designed as tactile extensions of the identity.
- 03
Foil blocking and letterpress
Specialist processes used with judgement—whether a precise foil detail, a deep letterpress impression or a deliberately quiet blind finish.
- 04
Embossing, debossing and edge treatments
Subtle dimensional and edge details that reward close attention and make the object memorable in the hand.
- 05
Binding, packaging and production direction
Considered construction, mock-ups, printer liaison and press-ready oversight through to the finished piece.
Working approach
Design and production considered together
I involve production thinking early, because format, stock, ink, foil, impression and binding are creative decisions rather than finishing touches. I can work with trusted specialist printers and makers in Nottingham and across the UK, or collaborate with an established production partner, maintaining the detail from first concept to final proof.
Private enquiry
Create something people will want to keep.
If the physical expression of the brand should feel distinctive, tactile and exceptionally resolved, let’s discuss what the piece needs to achieve.
